How do you adjust the parking and e-brake on a 63 impala?

Hello, I just bought a 63 impala and when I put it in park it wants to roll a little. Also even with the e-brake on. Any way to adjust this? How do you adjust the parking and e-brake on a 63 impala? In order for the emergency brake to work properly, the rear brakes need to be adjusted properly.

If the rear brakes are out of adjustment, applying the emergency brake doesn't push the rear shoes against the drums with enough force to keep the car in place.

Since you just bought the car, now would be a good time to inspect the brake shoes for wear.

If the shoes aren't worn, then your next step should be to adjust the rear brakes.

Most of the time, adjusting the rear brakes resolves the problem.

If not--- and only after the rear brakes have been properly adjusted--there is an adjusting rod and nut beneath the car, to adjust the cable tension. If the car has been sitting unused for a long time---or the previous owner didn't bother using the emergency brake, you'll likely find that one or more cables has %26quot;frozen%26quot; due to rust.
