The hot water in my condo is only lukewarm, how do I adjust the temperature?

It's frikkin freezin, and the water for my shower is lukewarm. It pretty much sucks. Is there a way to adjust the temperature for water? It's the same throughout the condo, the sinks, dishwasher, etc same temperature. The hot water in my condo is only lukewarm, how do I adjust the temperature? If you have your own water heater and have access to it, then you can adjust the temp. of your water by either turning the large red control knob on the front of the gas valve, if it is a gas unit, to the desired temp. area. It will have a vacation setting, a warm and hot and sometimes a very hot setting. And a word of advice here, adjust temp. a little at a time, don't make big jumps in temp. as you might wind up with scalding hot water and get someone burned.

If this is an electric unit, there will be, probably, two metal cover plates over the elements and thermostats. The upper thermostat is frequently a factory set item while the lower one is usually adjustable to a degree. Check to see where the thermo. is set now and as with the gas unit, adjust a little at a time. You will probably need a philips head screwdriver to remove the panels and a flat blade screwdriver to adjust the thermostat.

If this is a large building with condo's like apartments, you may not even have access to the water heater. You may have to contact your building maint. person to get this accomplished. The hot water in my condo is only lukewarm, how do I adjust the temperature?New Daddy, email me and I'll talk to you about your water heater.

But first you have to tell me if you have your own water heater, gas or electric, or common water heater for all unitsThe hot water in my condo is only lukewarm, how do I adjust the temperature? If you have access to the water heater, there is a dial near the bottom of it that should have letters or #s, the higher the letter/#, the hotter your water will be. Only turn it up a couple of notches so you don't get the water too hot %26amp; burn yourself. If you don't have access to the water heater, you'll have to contact the owner %26amp; tell them about the problem so they can adjust it.The hot water in my condo is only lukewarm, how do I adjust the temperature?electric or gas water heater makes no difference, there is a thermostat adjustment on the heater itself, find the heater and you will recognize it, turn up to 120 or so(be careful not too hot,) expecially with little ones in the house,if it is adjusted correctly or wont get and hotter you may have sedement in bottom of tank or an element out, but try turning it up first, good luckThe hot water in my condo is only lukewarm, how do I adjust the temperature?First notion is that someone has left the hot water heater/tank set at the 'vacation' mode which heats to luke warm. There should be a manual for the tank sitting on it or nearby. There are settings on a dial usually in the form of 0 I II II III and vacation is usually between the 0 and the I. This is with a gas heater.

Other issues may be contingent on the age of the building, hot water heater, pipes (and what they are made out of [see next issue]), hardness of water (water scale and corrosion can develop in iron pipes causing poor flow of [especially hot water as it can produce more electrolytes than cold] water through them). Your water tank may be too small and/or not capable of producing enough heat for your needs. Some of these issues will require the assistance of a plumber. The hot water in my condo is only lukewarm, how do I adjust the temperature?Go to the hot water heater and turn the dial to hotter :)
