How to adjust my chipping as i can sometimes chip close but then i chip far away from the hole?

i play on sand scrapes and not greens. i normally chip with a 7 iron and bump it up onto the black,. but im thinking about using a lob wedge to lob it up and just land near the pin. is that a good ideadHow to adjust my chipping as i can sometimes chip close but then i chip far away from the hole?I would either use a sand wedge or a pitching wedge from anywhere near 80 yards or closer to the hole. How to adjust my chipping as i can sometimes chip close but then i chip far away from the hole?If the turf's firm, don't go with the SW- the higher bounce angle (and bigger sole) can make the clubhead skip when it hits the turf. This can lead to a lot of topped or bladed shots. If the turf's average to soft, go with an easy SW.

The LW can be a good choice- the smaller bounce angle and thinner sole will help on hardpan and fairway grass. You'd have to be precise, though.

You might be better served with a half PW shot. Take the club back to about 9:00, then stop the follow through at 3:00.

This is just a suggestion- take everyone's advice, go to the course and experiment- that's what's great about golf: there's more than one way of getting the ball in the hole. How to adjust my chipping as i can sometimes chip close but then i chip far away from the hole?Practice is the only the only way to become proficient with any club in your bag, on any type of green. Use each club and find the one that gives you the best results, under varying conditions. Learning any shot, or club for the given shot that is desired is a continuing process, one that is likely to take a considerable amount of time and patients.
