How do i adjust my motorcycle valve/lifters?

its a 1982 honda v45 magna 750. anything i need to know to make this easy or foolproof? do i really need to remove the time cover? any other tips or insight. they have gotten noisier and the power isn't the same either. (can i adjust the timing if needed and how then???)How do i adjust my motorcycle valve/lifters?you need a service manaul, you need tools, i have the manaul email and ill send you the chapters via email,How do i adjust my motorcycle valve/lifters?If you have never done the V45 valve adjustments, my suggestion would be to let a srevice shop do it. That bike is no joke when it comes to adjusting valves. NOT fun. If you absolutely MUST do this yourself, get the service manual and follow the valve adjustment section TO THE LETTER.

You will reset the cam timing after the valve adjustments are done, as part of the service.

Be prepared for a raging headache.

~How do i adjust my motorcycle valve/lifters?Adjusting the cam timing on that model is not necessary after a valve adjustment.

The engine has tappet adjusters, not shims (which require removing the camshafts).

The ignition timing is preset and not adjustable.

The left crankcase cover will have to be removed in order to turn the crankshaft, to adjust the valves.

Valve adjustment

If you don't have the special tool Honda made for this engine, use 2 feeler gauges when adjusting the valves.

Each rocker arm has 2 tappet adjusters - adjust both at the same time using 2 feeler gauges (one on each adjuster).
